Disputes & Expert witness services
The use of forensic accountants in complex disputes is becoming increasingly common.
Forensic accountants are required given the complex corporate and trust structures that are used, the tracing of money and other transactions and extensive property and other corporate searches that are required.
The use of forensic accountants in complex financial disputes can often decrease the cost of running a particular piece of litigation. This is because forensic accountants can provide clarity to lawyers about the particular financial issues at play and also in many cases opposing forensic accountants are ordered to confer and prepare a joint expert report setting out where they agree and disagree. Ultimately this can reduce the issues that are in dispute.
We typically assist clients with:

Many people are of the belief that the use of a forensic accountant is outside of their budget and are often surprised when we can provide a fixed price expert witness report for between $3,000 and $15,000 depending on the issues that require examination.
Business Valuations
At Rushmore we have business valuation expertise across nearly all industries and business types. Each business valuation is provided on a fixed price of $5,990 including GST. A further $390 including GST is charged should an affidavit be required in addition to the business valuation report.
Our business valuations are frequently provided for Court purposes and we are cross examined on the contents and opinions of each report. We also frequently provide business valuation reports for sale/purchase transactions, tax, estate/inheritance issues and a range of other purposes.
