Herbert Luscombe – who’s will is being contested
A mystery blonde could hold the key to a will – allegedly signed in a pub – over the multi-million dollar estate of an elderly Sydney man.
Police want to track down a woman known as Blondie whom they believe has information about the “pub” will of Herbert Luscombe, of Homebush, who died in January 2009 at the age of 100.
Mr Luscombe’s family was settling his $3 million-plus estate – according to a will he signed with his own solicitors in early 2006 – when another will came to light leaving the entire estate to Laura Healey, of Cabramatta.
That will was allegedly signed in the Horse and Jockey Hotel in Homebush in October 2006 – the day after Mr Luscombe, then 97, was released from hospital following a hip replacement.
It was allegedly drawn up by a solicitor who has since died.
Ms Healey is now contesting the family’s will, with the case listed to be heard in the Supreme Court on October 10.
Ms Healey has said she was driving in Homebush when she saw a sold sign on the home she knew that Mr Luscombe owned.
She said she contacted the real estate agent, who informed her Mr Luscombe was dead.
Her solicitor Ejaz Khan confirmed Ms Healey was contesting the will but said for confidentiality reasons he would not discuss any details.
Detectives recently received information about a mystery woman known as Blondie, who is believed to have had contact with Mr Luscombe.
Blondie “may have visited Mr Luscombe … and may be able to assist with the investigation” Detective Inspector Paul Arnold said. “Despite extensive inquiries, we have not been able to identify this woman and we are hoping someone may recall her nickname or friendship with Mr Luscombe. We hope Blondie has information that will assist us.”
