By | 25 September 2012

Shire of Kalamunda CEO James Trail has been stood down amid a forensic audit of the shire’s finances.

The audit was prompted after questions on contractual arrangements were raised by shire staff. It is expected to be finalised within three weeks.

Mr Trail was told of the probe on Friday, and was stood down with pay.

Shire president Don McKechnie said he had worked with Mr Trail over the past five years on many successful projects.
